So... I saw that movie last night, and it was probably one of the best things that's ever happened to me. This post is not spoilery or anything, because I don't really do reviews, but I do have one thing I just have to let everyone know.

I love me some Steve/Tony, but this movie was just like, "Hey. You ship Tony and Bruce. You know you do," and I just couldn't argue with the logic. I do ship it. I ship it hard core. But which one is my OTP? I can't decide...

P.S. I can't lie... I thought Loki was hella cute.

P.P.S. Joss fucking Whedon, yo. He should direct ALL of the movies.

comments

...but this time for books!

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of any fiction that features male witches (NOT wizards like in HP). Any genre except for romance, really. Fantasy, adventure, young adult. Whatever. And if say, a male witch is disliked or discriminated against because of a belief that magic should belong to only women, well that's just a bonus.

I saw on a forum something like this: The Haunting and The Changeover by Margaret Mahy, but after reading the online summaries I'm not 100% sure if they're what I'm looking for. So, if anyone has read those or has other books to pimp a comment would be great!

And now back to the interwebs...

comments

I hate when people treat well-behaved but intelligent young adults like "bad kids". If you keep being such a shithead, they're going to serious business rebel, and they'll be much better at it than the real "bad kids". All this "at risk" bullshit is totally counterporductive. Just because someone's not popular doesn't mean they're dangerous, and just because they're not afraid to express an opinion that wasn't directly fed to them doesn't mean they're a problem child who just wants to cause trouble. There is no such thing as "just being a teenager". A human being is a human being, with legitimate feelings triggered by legitimate emotional stimuli. Saying "it's just a stage" is a fucking cop-out and makes you an ignorant coward. I don't see why it's so difficult to extend some respect to someone your junior just because they happen to be younger, especially when you manage to give that respect to a bunch of idots who are lucky enough to have been born around the same time as you.

Discuss.

comments

Okay, so I looked at episode descriptions today, and it turns out, yes, Toph was with them at Hama's (which I remember now, because of when her and Sokka talk to that old guy).

I think I'm going to do this thing a lot like how the show does it, as in show what the gAang is doing and then show what Zuko and Iroh are doing while they're still separate.

I have to rewatch Zuko Alone, because I only sort of remember it. Then, in Bitter Work I'll have Zuko get curious about the potential for other non-firebending techniques and to possibly read up on the traditions and philosophies of the other benders and start making his own moves. That would be cool, no? Appa's Lost Days, Lake Laogai, The Earth King, and The Crossroads of Destiny I think I'll keep pretty much the same.

After that, I'm debating if Zuko should run away and join the Avatar after the events of The Beach or after learning about The Avatar and the Firelord. If I go The Beach route, Mai will go with him. If The Avatar and the Firelord, he will just sneak off in the middle of the night. I'm thinking I like that one better, but I'm not for sure because I love Mai so much... Idk.

But anyway. That's what I'm thinking. And there will be so much angst. And it will be glorious.

comments

So, about a million years ago I read a fanfiction in which Zuko was already with the gAang by the time they met Hama and, obviously, she didn't like him very much. Anyway, in that particular fic they had him busy helping Hama's captives with Toph instead of taking part in the confrontation, so this is my take on what might've happened if Zuko had been with them at Hama's, and if he had been there for the whole bloodbending fight scene.

Um. Toph isn't in mine, and I don't really know if she should be or anything. Was she there in canon? I don't remember (mostly because I tend not to give too many shits about anyone but Zuko...).

Anyway. This obviously is not a truly complete... thing. I'll have to see if I'm not too lazy to make it an actual universe to belong in.

( The moonlight tingles on her skin and she can feel the liquids in his body. )

So, yeah. Completely un-proofread, and also it's almost 1:00 in the morning, so I would not be surprised if there's about a million mistakes. My bad. I'll fix them later.

Also, on a not quite unrelated note: One day I will write bloodbending porn, and it will be glorious.

Yeah. And to all a good night.

comments

Okay, so I'm doing a 14 Days of Valentine's thing, I've decided. Much like the 25 Days of Christmas that ABC Family does, there is a different story for every day leading up to the holiday. In order to catch up I'm doing February 1 through 6 all at once, and then a little short one for every day until Valentine's Day. This year the benefiting pairing is Superman/Batman.

I wanted to do all of these in all newspaper articles, but that didn't work out unfortunately. Most of it will still be in news media though, with three so-far planned character point of view days. I have all the days planned for (unless I throw one out) except for day seven. Of course, because that's tomorrow, you know. Any ideas are welcome!

For February 1, I made up a journalist for the Daily Planet because the article didn't seem like something Lois would write, and Cat's only a columnist, right? Idk...

( February 1 through 6 )

comments
